Don't give me a model number of an HVAC unit, no, not that type, because that's spelled different. No, I'm talking about the big, loud, monster delivery machines that transport everything across America, or where ever you live. This post was inspired by !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . So, what is it? Here are mine.

I'm not a huge train guy, but I've always loved the old Santa Fe streamliners.
My grandfather used to have a ton of model trains, and the streamliner was always my favorite one.

Freight: GE Dash 9 (preferably in Canadian National livery)
Passenger: The 6 axle behemoth - EMD F40C
Out of 15, two are known to remain after Metra scrapped the rest.

I refrained from posting the obvious, but the Big Boy wasn't actually the most powerful. The Allegheny 2-6-6-6 had the BB beat by over 1000hp.

Yes the king of steam. About a decade ago UP had one of their challengers go around the country (like the big boy but a 4-6-6-4 instead of 4-8-8-4). the size of these Locomotives is just amazing. For your consideration I submit GM's DD40ax from the late sixties and still the most powerful locomotive made.

But the 4-8-8-4 Big Boy is my favorite, which is your criteria.

I know, I just got carried away being a train nerd. Most people like it just because it's the biggest. Which is still a good reason.

Hungarian MÁV 242 series streamlined steam locomotive. Nicknamed "Coffin", this locomotive was capable of speeds around 100 MPH in the 1930s, which was pretty fast at the time.

Toss up between the UP Bigboy and the PRR GG1. My Dad used to ride the GG1 for no other reason than to ride in it.

GM's E and F series of the 40's and 50's are very good looking machines. Definitely best looking in Santa Fe colors. My Grandpa drove those for Santa Fe. He even drove Santa Fe passenger trains like the EL Capitan or Super Chief.

If you have the chance, visit the Henry Ford museum. They have one of these bad boys in there.
